Mid-day Sounds for the Soul Meditation
Connect with your source of inner peace in this weekly meditation.  Regular meditation is so beneficial for health and well-being.  Join Sounds for the Soul players for an hour break from rushing and stress-filled day-to-day activities and spend your lunch break luxuriating in the peaceful Sounds for the Soul meditation energy. 12:00-1:00 p.m.  Relax, refresh, renew and restore! We invite you to set aside your electronics, all your tech, calendar, your thoughts, your stress…and take that journey from your head to your heart. We offer you the opportunity to invite in inner peace, relaxation, restoration, renewal, compassion, loving kindness, unconditional love and gratitude. Full Moon Gong Meditation
The full moon is an excellent time to release what is no longer serving you.  The gong meditation enhances the releasing process.  Members may bring a yoga mat and other items (i.e. pillow, blanket, eye cover, bottle of water) for their comfort. Many enjoy bringing a journal to jot down guidance and messages received during the meditation.  You will be “bathed” in sound during this session.  The gong sounds will help detoxify the body.  (Be sure to drink plenty of pure water following the session.)  The sounds of the gong will remind you of your inner ability to be in bliss, as well as take you into a state of deep relaxation and peacefulness. At the time of the full moon, the energy supports us in releasing anything that no longer serves us, perhaps a behavior, a belief, thought pattern, whatever you are ready to let go of, to make room for the new that you wish to create. At this group meditation, we will combine our intentions with the frequencies of multiple gongs, crystal singing bowls and other instruments to bring about the healing process within each of us. As we do this healing work on ourselves, we help to heal our world. As we heal our world, we heal ourselves. We will work with our breath and the vibrations of unconditional love and gratitude    6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Contact Deb Jennings for more information. 515-371-0725 or soundsforthesouldj@gmail.com.  Website:  http://soundsforthesouldj.com/ Energy Exchange:  $15 per person. Tickets may be purchased at http://soundsforthesouldj.com/tickets/   You may also pay by cash or personal check at the door.

Loving Kindness Meditation with Sound for the Christopher Tree Project
Come to this meditation with sound which will focus on loving kindness.  Put loving kindness into practice with giving a donation to the Christopher Tree Project.  Sounds for the Soul will offer this hour-long meditation from 7:15 to 8:15 p.m. for a donation and all funds received will be donated to the Christopher Tree Project.  Here is more information about the Project.  When Deb attended the first ever International Gong Summit earlier this year, 9 Ways Academia head instructor, and chief organizer of the Summit, Dr. Mitch Nur, gave a presentation on the gong culture in the USA and the history of the most influential people in making Gong what it is today in this country.  He spoke of Christopher Tree.  Christopher’s interest began with the Gong in the early 1950’s when he was given a gong in the middle of the night in Big Sur, California.  He introduced it in collaboration with Elias Romero, an early pioneer in the development of light shows on the West Coast in live performances.  By the 60’s, Tree was touring up and down the West Coast, playing concerts at the first California Love In’s, San Quentin Prison, was the inspiration of a younger Don Conreaux, and was featured in a movie, before arriving at the famous Woodstock Music Festival in New York.  Shortly thereafter, he moved to the Mediterranean where he offered his Spontaneous Sound Creations to audiences in a large cave night club on an island catering to the yacht culture of southern Europe.  He spent time performing in Switzerland and Germany before moving to France.  He was featured on the front cover of French Vogue Magazine.  Tree became noticed by the medical community when a child recovered hearing during one of his performances.  After 19 years in France, Tree returned to America in the late 1990’s, moving to a small fishing village on the Oregon Coast to be near family members.  He briefly revised his music career, playing at festivals, but his interest of working with children and exposing them to music became his central focus.  Christopher is a Luddite, shunning technology, and now in a world dominated by technology, his legendary status as America’s first gong performer has basically gone unnoticed, as well as his achievements of working with children, the mentally and physically challenged, the incarcerated, and disadvantaged.  Having once been featured in Time magazine, this living legend is quietly living in retirement in the Pacific Northwest.  This event is to bring awareness to Christopher Tree and many attendees at Gong Summit from around the world are hosting events in October to honor Christopher.  The funds raised will go to provide for supplements and food from his local health food store. We are most grateful for your generous support of this event to honor Christopher Tree.  Energy Exchange:  by donation.

New Moon Gong Meditation
At the new moon, it is the perfect time to create what you want to manifest in your life. We set intentions on how we want things to look in our lives. The new moon gong meditation assists us to stay connected with our mind, body and spirit, utilizing the moon energy as a healing experience.  The sound of the gong “re-tunes” us on many levels, bringing us into harmony and deep levels of inner peace.  These sounds work on a cellular level as well as an emotional level.  Participants may bring a yoga mat and other items for their comfort (i.e. blanket, pillow, eye cover, bottled water, journal). 6:30 p.m.  Contact Deb Jennings for more information. 515-371-0725 or soundsforthesouldj@gmail.com
